Living My Way

Today is the 21st June, the first summer day. It was a nice warm day almost reminding summer but still feeling more like spring time. This weekend was cold today it’s a bit warm and tomorrow we can expect everything. With the hot days also cames the thirst and I give thanks to it because I don’t drink almost any water and me as any other person should drink at least one and a half liters of water a day. Usually when the summer is here I buy a dozen of custom water bottles to have near so I can force myself drink but it’s not always easy. With summer arriving also arrives the will to stay fit and drinking a bottle of water a day is a plus for those who keep doing it, and I just hope I can do it as well.

Smoking can be a nesting habit. I used to smoke for 5 years and then I decided to stop. Although I never really stopped I manage to smoke only on social occasions while drinking. I remember when first started I tried almost all brands in market, from marlboro to davidoff in order to decide which one I like the most. I’m not proud of it now and I’m glad I stop while I was able. Presently I must say that I don’t feel any need of smoking and when I do so I know It’s only a social habit and I will not go back smoking like I used too.

Lighting keeps a problem at my apartment. I still don’t have any chandeliers and I would like to buy one for the bedroom and living room but I find it harder from day to day. Occasionally I search on the net to see the trends and I found Seagull lighting an interesting place to buy, there are plenty of types to choose from. For me it’s not easy since lighting is fragile and I prefer to buy it in a physical shop then buying in the net, but for those who live in US may be useful.

Two weaks ago it was my nephew’s birthday and because he has almost all he wants and needs it was hard to find him a present. First it’s not easy to find a boy’s present when he has all the toys he wants, second it’s all too expensive and third his birthday were very close to easter time. Together with my sister we decided to give him a playstation 3 and went looking for it, when we were buying we saw the playstation 2 a lot cheaper than the 3 and we were wondering why not buy him the cheapest one. He could play as well, we could buy him a lot more games with the money left and in a couple of years playstation 3 will be as outdated has 2 and as he would be older he could decide better for himself. Here he a good example of not letting children to decide and not being influenced by advertisement.

 I love pets, mostly dogs but I like all of them. When I moved together with Angel we considered having a pet, we both like dogs and we went to see pet products like pet feeders, pet beds pet toys to see how much we would have to spend but soon realized our apartment is no good for pets specially dogs. We might consider having a fish or a bird but presently we don’t’ have time to take care of it. So we will think about it if we can have the chance to move from the apartment to a house.

Health insurances like Blue Advantage are not very common in Portugal, at least not for most people. We have the Social Security System that provides us with medical attention and hospitalization when we need. Sometimes not a very good or effective one so we need to see private practices and we end up spending twice as much. I believe In Portugal people should have the option of choosing between the Public health System and paying a health insurance to have the needed heath cares. I think that is not going to happen, not at least, at a short term, but who knows what the future holds.

I’ve been having often visitors from a security company, they are installing some wireless security systems nearby and wanted me to buy one as well. I’ve been considering in buying one but I think they are too expensive, it’s not just the alarm and all the systems they need to install n here, it’s also the monthly fee I have to spend just to be protected. I now protection it’s prevention but although I would like to have it installed I need to be on my feet financially first…

Working out… always a problem. It’s been more than a year that I mention I should go to a gym because I need to work out and I feel the need to be fit. The other day I went to a shopping and I saw an elliptical that might be good to have at home but I soon realize that if I had spent that money I wouldn’t use the machine more than for or five times. I have been having some though days. Lots of work and no money, so I’m waiting things to get better to decide how I’m going to work out.

I’ve been thinking in creating a weekend break package with an equestrian activity. Nearby I have a fried working in a Country House with horses and I think it should be a perfect escape from daily routine. I know it takes a lot more than will to put this in practice it need some expert to guide the activity, equestrian clothing might be needed as well, but mainly we need to arrange that with the country house availability.
